Day 01 Arrive Lhasa By Flight
Arrive Lhasa from Chengdu / Kathmandu.
Meet-assist at airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 02 Lhasa
Lhasa visit Potala Palace , Jokhang Temple and Barkhor.Potala was the winter palace of the Dalai lama, which was originally built in the 7th century by the king Sotsen Gampo and rebuilt to the present size by the 5th Dalai lama in the 17th century. Built in 1416 by Tsongapa’s disciple—Jamyang-choje. Jokhang Temple, one of the oldest temples in Tibet, was built in the 7thcentury by the 33rdking—Sontsanganbu. Barkor is the middle pilgrimage circuit around Jokhang Temple.

Day 03 Lhasa
Lhasa visit Drepung Monastery and Norbulinka Palace, Sera Monastery.Drepung Monastery is the biggest Gelupa monastery in the west suburb of Lhasa.Built in the mid-18th century by the 7th Dalailama.

Norbulingka, the Jewel Park was the Dalai lama’s summer palace, it covers 100 acres with palaces, pavilions and a zoo.Sera is the second biggest Gelupa Monastery in the north suburb of Lhasa, which was built in 1419 by Tsongapa’s disciple—Sakya-yeshi.Situated at the heart of the oldest section of the Lhasa city.

Day 04 Lhasa – Gyantse By Road 260 kms / 8 hrs appx
Gyantse lies 260kms southwest of Lhasa on the Northern bank of Nyang Chu River. It takes around 8 hours to reach Gyantse crossing the Kamba La Pass 4800m where the beautiful Yamdrok Tso will be seen and the Karo La Pass 5010m where the year-around glacier will be seen. Gyantse has been known as a heroic town since Tibetans resisted the Young husband’s British Expedition to Tibet in 1904.

Day 05 Gyantse – Shigatse By Road 95 kms / 2 hrs appx
Phalkor Monastery was built in the 15th century by the local chieftain Ramtan Kasom under the guidance of the first Panchan lama. Shigatse is the second biggest city in Tibet, 90KMs away from Gyangtse.

Day 06 Shigatse – Tsedang By Road 320 kms / 6 hrs 30 min appx
The Samye Monastery is at the foot of Mt. Haibusi, on the north bank of the Yaluzangbu River in Jialang county. Being the 1st monastery, belongs to the Nyingmapa and Sakyapa Sects., was built in 761. The 5th Tobu King Chisong Duosan sent envoys to Kashmir and India to invite famous lamars to teach Buddhism in Tibet.

It is said that the monastery was destroyed by fire and was rebuilt three hundred years as the residence of the 6th Dalai Lamar.Finally it was completed by Rating Rimpoche. The monastery had been combined the Chinese, Tibetan and Indian styles, in the centre of the monastery is a big square 3-storey hall with a floor space of over 8,900 square metres.

Day 07 Tsedang
Full day visit Yumbulakhang & Chamdrok Temple.
Yombulakhang, the first palace for the first king in Tibetan history, is 15KM away from Tsedang town. The mountain slope palace was originally built in the second century B.C, but the replica was rebuilt in the 1980s. Built in the 7th century by the king Sontsan Gambu, Chamdrok is one of the oldest temples in Tibet, 4KM away from the Tsedang hotel.

Day 08 Depart Tsedang – Lhasa Airport (95 Kms. / 1H 50M appx.)
Departure transfer to Lhasa airport for flight to onward destination.

– In Asia, there is no relevance between the distance and time of traveling, as it depends upon the condition of the roads and congestion of the traffic.
– While every effort will be made to maintain the itinerary, in view of local strikes etc that are beyond our control all schedule and itineraries are subject to last moment changes.
